Winter is upon us and we hope everyone is staying cozy. We’re sharing a few winter #ApartmentTips as we continue to prepare for cooler weather.
❄️ Let your faucets drip, especially at night if it’s very cold (below 10 degrees)
❄️ Keep your heat on even when you’re not in the house
❄️ Make sure nothing is blocking your vents so warm air can circulate
❄️ Keep cabinet doors below faucets open to let warm air circulate
❄️ Make sure all windows are closed completely so heat doesn’t escape

It’s heating up out there! The National Weather Service in -your city or county- has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from - date and time-. Please watch out for an increased risk of heat related illnesses, including heat stroke and dehydration. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and stay out of direct sunshine. Stay cool!
GO ABOVE AND BEYOND
When Disaster Strikes, Provide the Essentials!
While we would want to bring our residents together and provide some IRL (in real life) entertainment, with social distancing guidelines in place, consider a grab and go set up with these items:
Provide a grab-and-go pack or deliver grab bags with all the essentials.
No Water. No Worries: Have backup water bottles, non-perishable snacks, and maybe the essential liquid…booze!
Hurricane SZN Soiree OR Black Out Bash: A backup supply of food, water, booze, matches, flashlights, battery packs, and candles.
Connect and Pass the Time: Include simple board games or decks of cards for entertainment.
The KEY is to let residents know the community game plan before the hurricane hits
Post regularly to social what residents should do in case of water outages, internet loss, hurricane warnings, and electrical blackouts.
Have a plan for checking on elderly and disabled residents.
