HOW TO HANDLE PAST CONFLICT

Reflection helps! Think about a recent conflict or unresolved conflict from long ago.

Action steps:

  • Grab a journal and answer this question: Is there anything you like or don’t like about the conflict that took place?

  • Free write and replay the moment as you remember it.

  • Next, turn the page, draw a line down the center of the page.

  • On the right side of the page write down the things you liked about the conflict.

  • On the left side of the page write down the things you did not like about the conflict.

  • Read the list as an observer.

  • Flip the page.

  • Answer the question: If you were given an opportunity for a re-do, what would you change or do differently?

  • Refer to this when another conflict arises. You will be better prepared!
