Fall Door Decorating Contests
5 Door Decorating Contests
1. Classic Fall Door Décor Contest
How it works: Invite residents to decorate their front doors with autumn themes—pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows, cozy vibes.
Extra fun: Offer categories like “Most Creative,” “Scariest,” “Coziest Fall Door,” or “Best Use of Pumpkins.”
Prize idea: Gift cards to local coffee shops or fall-themed gift baskets.
2. Pumpkin Patch Doors
How it works: Supply each participating resident with a paper pumpkin cutout to decorate however they’d like (paint, markers, glitter) and place on their door.
Extra fun: Display pictures of all the decorated pumpkins on the community bulletin board or social media.
Prize idea: Best pumpkin wins a “Pumpkin Spice Everything” basket.
3. Thankful Doors in November
How it works: Distribute blank leaf cutouts to residents and ask them to write what they’re thankful for, then tape them to their door.
Extra fun: Provide “starter kits” with tape, leaves, and markers.
Prize idea: Draw from participating doors for a grocery gift card.
4. Hallway Harvest Walk
How it works: Host a “harvest hallway” event where each floor or section of the building picks a theme (pumpkin patch, apple orchard, cozy cabin) and decorates their doors/hallway together.
Extra fun: Schedule a night for everyone to walk through, enjoy cider and cookies, and vote on their favorites.
Prize idea: Winning floor gets a pizza or donut party.
5. Pink Your Space: Breast Cancer Awareness
How it works: In October, invite residents to decorate their doors in pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Think ribbons, positive messages, pink lights, and flowers.
Extra fun: Provide a small starter kit (pink ribbon cutouts or a printable sign) to every participant.
Prize idea: Donate $1–$2 to a breast cancer charity for every participating door, and give a pink-themed gift basket to the winner.
