“Remember when disaster strikes, the time to prepare has passed!” - Steven Cyros

It’s impossible for everything to go perfectly at our communities all the time, but it is possible to prepare BEFORE the unexpected occurs. When we can show up for our residents (even when most other businesses wouldn’t) we surprise and delight in meaningful ways. And let’s face it, when things get crazy, the troops start to grumble. A plan to entertain is in everyone’s best interests.

What to do?

  1. No Water. No Worries Party.

    • Have backup water bottles, non-perishable snacks, and maybe the essential liquid…booze!

  2. Connect while Disconnected Diversion

    • Invite residents to connect IRL (in real life) with internet is down. Have board games , movie marathons, snacks and refreshments on hand.

  3. Hurricane SZN Soiree OR Black Out Bash

    • A back up supply of food, water, booze, matches, flashlights, battery packs, and games!

    • Bonus points for having a backup generator!

  4. OPTIONAL: For those residents that prefer to stay huddled in their apartment, provide a grab and go pack or deliver grab bags with all the essentials.

The KEY is to let residents know the community game plan before any of these events become necessary. Post regularly to social what residents should do in case of water outage, internet loss, hurricane warnings, and electrical blackouts. Have a plan for checking on elderly and disabled residents.
